Memorial Day Event Kicks Off Summer In The Woodlands

The Sunday event will feature fireworks, live music, childrens activities, a keynote speaker, a Community Covenant signing, strolling entertainers and more.

The festival pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving the United States, and also honors all veterans who serve as a symbol for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice of life to protect our freedom. This years keynote speaker will be COL (R) Randall M. Pais, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (Texas-East).

The Woodlands Township invites residents to the annual Memorial Day event in The Woodlands on Sunday, May 26, 2019. The event will take place in Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Dr., from 5 to 9 p.m.

Memorial Day in The Woodlands pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving the United States. Brig. Gen. (R) Henry Ostermann - United States Army Reserve Ambassador, will serve as the keynote speaker. A care package drop-off booth will be available onsite to accept donations of recommended items to be shipped to the troops currently serving. The online reviews you see on TripAdvisor and other sites seem to portray Moody Gardens as superior to the other island hotels for good reason – this Four Diamond Resort really does shine and is the best in Galveston!

Our Luxurious, Two-Room Suite

All the rooms I’ve experienced here have been simply lovely – clean, beautifully appointed with an authentic, tropical appeal. This time, our room was phenomenal! Our suite included two bedrooms (2 queen beds in one room; one king bed in the other) plus a kitchenette, a gorgeous living area with swanky furnishings, elegant molding, coffered ceilings, plum-colored accents, and a glass dining table with seating for eight. The floors, furniture, and counters were polished and flawless.

44th Annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour

Wanna see some interesting historic houses? Galveston Historical Foundation opens the doors to Galveston’s incredible architectural history through public tours of privately owned homes during its annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour. Tours will be held on May 5, 6, 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 for non-members before May 1 and $35 after and are available online at www.galvestonhistory.org. Members of Galveston Historical Foundation can purchase specially priced $25 tickets by calling 409-765-3405 or by visiting any of GHF’s retail locations.

MCHD Water Safety Demonstrations

May Day, known in previous years as April Pools Day, is set for 4-6 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at Shadowbend YMCA (6145 Shadowbend Pl, The Woodlands, TX 77381). This water safety event is open to the public and could potentially save a life.
