Get ready for tricks, treats and symphonic suites at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Hocus Pocus Pops Friday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Woodforest National Bank, the night will feature the Houston Symphony in a mesmerizing performance of horrifying horns, bewitching bassoons and chilling cellos. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free. Tickets are $25 for reserved orchestra seating and gates open at 6 p.m.

A variety of live music will fill the fall air on Thursday evenings at Hughes Landing in The Woodlands as Rock the Row, the popular and free outdoor concert series, returns October 13 through November 10. The Woodlands Township is the host of Rock the Row fall series.
Sponsored by The Howard Hughes Corporation and hosted by The Woodlands Township, the fall series of Rock the Row will feature a variety of genres from pop and rock to soul and country on Thursday evenings from 7-9 PM at Hughes Landing® Band Shell, located behind Restaurant Row. So, Popeyes has beignets now. I’m not a beignet snob, but I’ve had my fair share of beignets that didn’t measure up. These DO! Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother writing a whole post on a fast food dessert, trust me.
The beignets are filled with Hershey’s chocolate, they’re slightly crunchy, slightly chewy, and made fresh to order (which added an extra 4 minutes to my wait.) I WOULD say I like them better than the ones I’ve had at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, but I don’t need anybody (particularly my husband) coming after me. So I won’t say it.
