Does your son want to sing? Luminari Boys Choir is seeking talent!

Does your son enjoy singing? Luminari Boys Choir has sprung from the origins of Woodlands Boys Choir, which was formed in 2015 to provide exceptional choir programs to The Woodlands area. The name change reflects the growth of the choir’s membership and audience reach, and the choir is currently scheduling auditions.

“The name ‘luminari’ invokes visions of light, wisdom, and spirit,” said founder and co-director Sherryl Pond. “Our mission is to bring these qualities to young men, whether they’re our existing choir members in The Woodlands or our new recruits we are actively seeking throughout the North Houston and surrounding areas.”

Spanish Schoolhouse celebrates 20 years of Language Immersion!

Twenty years ago, a small group of children gathered in a Texas living room to get a taste of Spanish language and culture in a fun, energetic way. That living room belonged to Victoria Williams (an American mom with a psychology degree), who had brought in neighbor Monica Ramírez (a mom from Mexico with a computer science background) to help teach the children Spanish. Together they taught fun, hands-on, one-hour classes. They weren’t thinking of it as a future business – they just wanted to create a place where kids could have fun while learning the Spanish language.

Weekly classes grew, summer camps were added, an after-school Spanish program was developed, and eventually, Spanish Schoolhouse, the top-rated preschool that daily immerses children in the Spanish language and the warmth of Latin culture, had taken root!
