Santa Claus at Market Street - Begins Nov 22

Who brings lots of Christmas cheer for little boys and girls who have been good all year?  Santa Claus himself will be greeting children of all ages as Market Street continues the much-loved holiday tradition of photos with Santa.  Children can have their photos taken with jolly ol’ St. Nick beginning Friday, November 22 through Monday, December 24, 2019.

Santa Claus is coming to town to share the magic and wonder of the season in space 1140 across from Kendra Scott where young visitors may have their photos taken and, of course, whisper their wish list to St. Nick. 

On December 1, bring your furry children for a photo!  Fluffy and Fido are welcome to visit from 4 – 7 p.m. for Pet Photos with Santa. 

Pet Adoptions Every Saturday in The Woodlands!

Are you looking for a new pet to bring home for the holidays? The love of an adopted rescue pet changes everything! Join Operation Pets Alive’s volunteers every Saturday at Petco Kuykendahl in The Woodlands (next to Trader Joes) from noon-4pm. They'll be on hand with adoptable dogs and cats, puppies and kittens! Regular Adoption fees are $150 for dogs and $75 for cats, and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and de-worming. Our musical play date with Prelude Music of The Woodlands was so much fun! Last week, we hung out with a handful of our readers and their babies/tots/preschoolers, and I’m still smiling about the nice time we had.  If you don’t have an all-out music & movement party at your house at least once a week, you gotta check out the classes here! They’re rhythmic and fun and freeing – every bit of what I want each of my days to feel like! 
 
For our Musical Playdate, we started off in Prelude’s Montessori-inspired playroom. It’s laid back, unpretentious, and just the right size for little bodies to develop the skill of playing solo or with friends. The children played with books, blocks, musical instruments, dolls, puzzles, and other playthings while the moms chatted together and made new acquaintances.

Our readers and their kiddos are invited to come play, sing, and meet WoodlandsMommy.com and Prelude Music Classes on Tuesday, October 22  for a Family Class (birth to age 5) at 10:30am, and a Babies Class (birth to 8 months) at 11:30am. For each session, we'll enjoy complimentary  play time in Prelude's Montessori-inspired play area, music, singing,  instruments, and mingling! Free Workshops for Kids at Home Depot

Your child can learn to build! On scheduled Saturdays each month, Home Depot offers FREE workshop for kids to work with Mom or Dad to build their own wooden masterpiece that they can complete in-store and then take home. Workshops are designed for kids ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome. I signed up my 11, 9, and 5 year olds for a recent project building a rocket ship pencil box, and it was a fun first experience. I was initially reluctant to bring the 11-year-old, thinking she'd be far too advanced, but I was wrong! Although most of the kids there seemed younger, I actually felt as though it was an appropriate, on-level independent project for her age, and even still I had to help her out a bit. And I had to help the two younger girls A LOT!

This summer, the Alley Theatre is excited to invite you to Alley Theatre Day, a day to experience the magic behind live theatre, happening on select weekends in June. Enjoy an exclusive backstage tour of the Hubbard Theatre and the 75,000 square foot Center for Theatre Production where Alley Theatre sets, costumes, and props are constructed. After the tour, attend a fencing demonstration and activity presented by Houston Sword Sports, followed by a fun and interactive workshop by the Alley Theatre Education team. End the day by attending a performance of the Ken Ludwig’s The Three Musketeers. (Before showtime, you and your crew can enjoy lunch off-site at a restaurant within walking distance of the theatre, or bring your own lunch and dine outside at one of the beautiful parks surrounding the Alley.
