Editor's Review: Brookwood Store

My visit to the Brookwood Store became the most pleasant shopping experience I had last week! Have you visited? The pop-up shop is open 10am - 5pm Tuesdays thru Saturdays and is located at 2025 Hughes Landing across the parking lot from Whole Foods. When I popped in, a treasure trove of high-quality handcrafted soaps, body creams, candles, decorative art, food products, and plants welcomed me in to gleefully spend the $50 gift card I’d received for Christmas.

Gourmet popcorn in Old Town Spring - POPPS!

The warm, dill pickle flavored popcorn was my fave! POPPS is located at 317 Gentry Dr. D3 in Old Town Spring and has been open since March 2020, but we first discovered the store just last month, quite by accident. We were actually past the store when I looked back and the cute red signage and sparkling clean windows caught my attention. "Can we stop here for sec?" I asked my husband.

Sweet Thrills at Knott's Berry Farm in California

I had the opportunity to sneak away with my husband for a kid-free trip to Los Angeles to celebrate the big 4-0. What better way to celebrate getting old than something that makes you feel young? We were thrilled to visit Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, located little more than a 10 minute drive from Disneyland in Anaheim.

Enjoy Grocery Shopping Again With Hugslie Land at Kroger Sterling Ridge!

There is nothing I dread more than grocery shopping with my kids. With everyone home for the summer, I can barely manage a trip to the store myself, let alone with three kids hanging on to my cart. Thank goodness for Hugslie Land at Kroger in Sterling Ridge! They offer a free, supervised play room for children ages 2-8 daily so that you can finally enjoy a child-free shopping experience (or just rest and have enjoy Starbucks with WiFi!).

Editor’s Review: Amazing Crêpes at Sweet Paris

So. Much. Charm! I dropped in at Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café mid-morning on a Monday, and right away, I knew this restaurant was something special. I thought my daughter and I would have the place to ourselves... you know, with it being Monday and 36 degrees and all. But there were couples sitting together drinking coffee, two groups of lady friends enjoying a brunch with spirited conversation and laughter, and other patrons who were dining alone and quietly savoring the energetic vibe of this place.

I have to tell you about the food, but first you should know I was captivated by the atmosphere. Sweet Paris is spacious and bright, yet quaint, with enough seating indoors and outside for up to 80 patrons. With its beautiful blue walls and elegant chandeliers, the decor is chic and modern, and I dare say transformative without feeling forced. I’m positive this is what everyone wants their French cafés to feel like - sophisticated, but very warm and approachable. Yes, this is it!

A wall of windows highlights one entire side of the restaurant, and natural light pours in, and the setting is just amazingly sweet and… Parisian! You order your food at the front counter, and then you go find a table (or hang around and watch your food being made in front of you, if it’s not too busy!).

Walt Disney World Without Kids - Moms Gone Wild!

Moms, it's time for a little talk. We deserve a break. A break from cooking, from cleaning, from car line, from grocery shopping, from after-school sports, from the gym, from work, from kids... a break from your every day. We've earned it and we deserve it! At least this is what you need to tell yourself as you explain away why Disney without kids sounds like a good idea. My friends and I broke free for a quick weekend trip to visit The Mouse and there are plenty of reasons why Walt Disney World might just be the perfect destination for your next girls' weekend!

Located in Downtown Dallas, the six year old museum sparkles with intrigue and excitement.
