Fun In The Kitchen With Papa Murphy's Mini Murph™

altWe are using up the last of our summer reading rewards from the library which encouraged me to try Papa Murphy's for the first time. The reward was for a free Mini Murph Make 'N' Bake Pizza Kit and the experience was fun and easy for my kids to create their own dinner. Kits are available for around $4 locally.

The Mini Murph Make 'N' Bake Pizza Kit includes:
  • altSeven inch pizza crust rolled out on Papa Murphy's signature bake 'n' serve tray
  • Container of pizza sauce
  • Generous amount of 100% all-natural, whole-milk mozzarella
  • Nearly a dozen slices of real pepperoni enough to cover traditionally or place creatively (a "cheese only" option is also available)
  • Temporary "Murph" tattoo
  • Baking instructions (425°F for 10-14 min.)
altThe kit was easy to set-up. I gave each child a small plastic spoon for spreading the pizza sauce. Upon realizing that they were being too skimpy with the sauce, I found it easiest to just dump the sauce out onto the dough and let them spread from there. Cheese was easy to sprinkle and spread and the kids had no trouble designing their pepperoni masterpiece. I loved that the pizza was prepped on the same tray that you use to bake it. This meant nothing to clean on my counter and no cheese sliding off to burn in my oven. I easily cut the cooked pieces in the tray and then threw it away. The rest of the prep containers, box and cellophane were recycled.

The kids all raved about their finished product and even let me snag a slice - I found the pizza flavorful and the sauce quite robust. These kits would be a great group activity for scouts, a sleepover or even a birthday party. My kids really enjoyed the experience and I appreciated how quick and clean the activity was.
