History of Boni’s Dance & Performing Arts Studio

Boni’s Dance & Performing Arts Studio was established in 1984 by Bonnie Schuetz, Owner and Artistic Director who had a dream of teaching the art and joy of dance to students. Forty years ago, she began her dream by teaching in her garage in The Woodlands in 1983. Her dream sparked an explosion that erupted the moment she opened her doors. In 1984, her dream became a reality when she opened her first Boni’s location in a one-room studio in Panther Creek Village Center.

The instruction, patience, discipline, and personal touch paid off with the opening of a state-of-the-art studio in 1999 on Research Forest. The 15,000 square foot facility includes seven separate classrooms with viewing windows for parents, dressing rooms, dance Boutique, and Café Tutu.

Miss Boni says, “It is our vision to make each child’s experience enjoyable as they explore dance for fun, exercise, or for professional training. We have made it our mission to develop each student to the fullest potential by nurturing them in a positive and loving atmosphere. Dance is a way of life. Dance develops poise, discipline, and personal fulfillment as well as the appreciation of dance as an art form. Dance is hard work, striving, and achieving goals.  A dancer is an athlete of the arts.”

Forty years after opening, Boni’s currently employs 50 teachers and staff that she calls “Family” and has over 1400 students and 3 locations in The Woodlands at:
