The lobby at the library is open! Here are the details:

Raise your hand if you miss going to the library! Before COVID-19, checking out new library books, enjoying storytimes and other programs, and visiting the Friends of the Library bookstore for awesomely priced books and magazines were weekly occurrences for me and my family. Oh how we missed being within those walls! That’s why we’re so pleased that Phase I of the Montgomery County Library System’s reopening is currently in effect. Here are the details:
Book drops are open! Library book drops are currently open (with the exception of the South Regional Library which is currently under construction and will reopen at a later date). Please note that all returns must come back to the library through the book drops. Any materials that were due during the library closure will not incur fines.

You won’t get pass the lobby! Libraries will be open for lobby service to pick up holds and material requested from the collection Monday-Thursday from 9am to 6pm and Friday from 9am to 5pm with the exception of South Regional Library. This is the only service that will be available during this phase, and access beyond the lobby will be unavailable. Meeting rooms and in-house programs are cancelled until further notice.

Summer Reading will gear up soon! The library system is currently working on getting their Summer Reading Program up and running. As you might have guessed, the program will be completely virtual this year. More details are forthcoming, and we'll be sure to share them with you.

If you have questions or wish to request an item from the collection, staff will be available to take calls or respond to online requests Monday-Thursday from 9am to 5:45pm and Friday from 9am to 4:45pm with the exception of South Regional Library.
