“If you want to be cool, just be you!” Main Street Theater brings Pete the Cat and this message we all need to hear  to the stage in a fun, lively musical that will delight the whole family. Performances will be held at MST’s MATCH location, 3400 Main St., Houston, TX  77002:

About Pete the Cat

Everybody loves Pete, the groovy, guitar playing cool cat. Everyone but Jimmy, the world’s most organized second grader. But all that changes when Pete the Cat and Jimmy take a once-in-a-lifetime road trip. The whole family will love Pete’s hilarious, jazzy antics in this toe-tapping musical! Recommended for Pre-Kindergarten and older. 

The musical has book and lyrics by Sarah Hammond, music by Will Aronson, and is based on the Pete the Cat series of books by Kimberly and James Dean.

About the Production

Pete the Cat is directed and choreographed by Daria Allen. Musical direction by Eduardo Guzman. The cast includes Seth Cunningham, Tyler Galindo, Brock Hatton, Matt Hurt, Shannon Nichols, and Diana Alcaraz Villa. The design team is Matt Lewis (set design), David Gipson (lighting design), Victoria Nicolette Gist (costume design), Shawn W. St. John (sound design), Lee O Barker (properties design), and Sarah Sneesby (choreography). Mary McNeely is the stage manager. 

Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine restaurant is coming to Hughes Landing® in The Woodlands® on the ground level of One Lakes Edge®, the luxury multifamily development by The Howard Hughes Corporation®. Azurro represents the fourth restaurant opened in The Woodlands by local restaurateur Enrique Orioli and his family-owned and operated restaurant group.

Azzurro adds to Orioli’s three prestigious dining establishments— the Creekside Park® and Research Forest area locations of Avanti Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, and the award-winning Via Emilia Italian Restaurant in the Village of Indian Springs, winner of OpenTable’s “Tastemaker Award” for Best Italian Restaurant and “Diner’s Choice.”

Overlooking Lake Woodlands, Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine will be located across from Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab, in a pristine setting with a patio overlooking Lake Woodlands. The new restaurant will feature Italian regional seafood specialties, handmade pasta, several braised meats, steak options and rare Italian wines. The vibrant, seaside décor will allow the ambiance to fully reflect the emphasis of the coastal region of Italy.

“Many of the recipes come from my grandmother, Nonna Elda, who was born and raised in Northern Italy. We do give our team the opportunity and freedom to create new menu items, but there’s no changing our classics,” stated Orioli.

Orioli describes why he believes The Woodlands is a  perfect fit for his restaurants. “The Woodlands is a thriving and tight-knit community. We recognized this eleven years ago when we opened our very first restaurant in Indian Springs. Since then, we’ve opened restaurants in Creekside Park and Research Forest. All have been very well received by the community. We are exceptionally excited to bring Azzurro to Hughes Landing.

“As a family-owned and operated restaurant group, we truly value the connection we make with the members of our community and its visitors. Food is much more than nourishment. It is a way we come together to connect and create memories. When we serve our guests, we are not only serving them a meal; we are sharing our family story through our cuisine. Producer Jeffery Seller and Memorial Hermann Broadway at the Hobby Center announced today a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show’s first performance (February 22) in Houston at the Hobby Center.  A limited number of tickets will be available for every performance for $10 each. The lottery will open at 10:00 AM CT Friday, February 11 and will close at 12:00 PM CT Thursday, February 17 for tickets to performances February 22 – 27, 2022.  Subsequent digital lotteries will begin each Friday and close the following Thursday for the following week’s performances.

HOW TO ENTER

• You can also visit http://hamiltonmusical.com/lottery to register.
• The lottery will open at 10:00 AM CT every Friday and will close for entry at 12:00 PM CT the next Thursday prior to the following week’s performances.
• Winner and non-winner notifications will be sent between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email and mobile push notification.  Once notified, winners will have one hour to claim and pay for their ticket(s). 
• No purchase or payment necessary to enter or participate.
• Each winning entrant may purchase up to two (2) tickets. 
• Only one entry per person, per performance. Repeat entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded.

Are you ready to monkey around?

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is going bananas over the arrival of the Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious! traveling exhibit coming Friday, February 11th through Saturday, May 14th, 2022. Curious George™ books and TV shows have delighted audiences for over 80 years with enlightening stories about a little monkey and his life lessons.

The new exhibit, Curious GeorgeTM: Let’s Get Curious! inspires young children’s natural curiosity as they explore early science, math and engineering through hands-on interactive play in the immersive exhibit environment depicting the neighborhood where Curious George lives with his friend, The Man with the Yellow Hat. Visitors can operate wheels and pulleys to help Curious George climb a building, sort and weigh fruits and vegetables at the produce stand, use science skills to putt a hole of mini golf, visit the rocket that Curious George took on his space adventure, and much more.

The exhibit follows the television expansion of Curious George’s world, which includes many new characters and original locales, while maintaining the charm of the beloved books. The result is a three-dimensional, fully developed world that will resonate with visitors young and old.


“Like Curious George, children explore the world with immense curiosity and enthusiasm,” stated Angela Colton, Executive Director of the museum. “These are key concepts for scientific investigation and discovery, and the exhibit allows children to explore science and math in a fun, accessible way.”

The Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious! traveling exhibit is on loan from the Minnesota Children's Museum, who designed, developed and built the exhibit in partnership with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group. The exhibit’s content is based on educational standards developed by Minnesota Children’s Museum and an expert advisory panel to the PBS KIDS series, as well as national science and math standards for young children.
