Township Holds Memorial Day Event & Festival

Memorial Day Festival 241 x 134 Opens in new window

The Woodlands Township invites residents to the annual Memorial Day event in The Woodlands on Sunday, May 26, 2019. The event will take place in Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Dr., from 5 to 9 p.m.

Memorial Day in The Woodlands pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving the United States. Brig. Gen. (R) Henry Ostermann - United States Army Reserve Ambassador, will serve as the keynote speaker. A care package drop-off booth will be available onsite to accept donations of recommended items to be shipped to the troops currently serving. The complete list of suggested items is available at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/memorialday.

The festival will feature live music by Klockwork Band, children's activities, strolling entertainers and more. The event will also include a special "Our Community Salutes" ceremony. Our Community Salutes helps communities recognize, honor and support local high school seniors who plan to enlist into the U.S. Armed Services after graduation. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness these individuals get sworn in as their military journey begins.

The evening will conclude with a dazzling fireworks display choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack, weather permitting. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and concessions will be available for purchase from a variety of food vendors.

Memorial Day in The Woodlands is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by The Howard Hughes Corporation® and Waste Management.
