Many organizations in our community are hosting gift drives for children, families and seniors in need of a little holiday sparkle this season. The groups below offer plenty of opportunities for your family to help others and spread joy this year.
Operation Blue Elf
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, The Montgomery County Sheriff Citizen's Academy Alumni Association and our many community partners are celebrating the Fourth Annual Community Christmas Toy Drive "Operation Blue Elf." Help make Christmas better for our communities' children in need by donating new, unwrapped toys at one of the many drop off locations throughout Montgomery County. Your local Toys for Tots has supplied new, unwrapped toys to needy children in our community since 1999. They believe this year will see an increase in the number of children who will need toys from the community. To find a local toy drop site or become one, click here.
The Salvation Army
The holidays can be an especially difficult time for people struggling to make ends meet. The Salvation Army of Greater Houston helps by providing hot meals, gifts, clothing, toys and much more during the holiday season. The Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children up to 12 years of age, and seniors 62 and older. Interfaith's Holiday programs provide gifts, toys and traditional holiday meal foods, perishables, toiletries and paper goods to our neighbors living in South Montgomery County. Interfaith Food Pantry is self-sustaining thanks to the generosity of our community food drives and purchases from local grocery stores. When you give to Interfaith, you are giving to families and Seniors in OUR community. Help them serve our local neighbors in crisis. Interfaith is now collecting Holiday food items for Thanksgiving!
