Storybook Theatre in February
Friday, February 07, 2025, 11:00am

Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, February 7th  presents “Mae Among the Stars” by Roda Ahmed. In celebration of Black History Month, children will be introduced to the story of Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to travel in space. As a child, Mae’s curiosity, intelligence, and determination along with her parents’ encouragement led her to fulfill her dreams and achieve amazing success at NASA.

Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, February 14th  presents “Love, Splat” by Rob Scotton. One of our favorite felines, Splat, has made a special Valentine card for Kitten, whom he likes even “more than fish sticks and ice cream”! However, Kitten doesn’t seem to like him in return. This sweet and heartfelt story will have children cheering on Splat.

Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, February 21st  presents “Brush Your Teeth, Please” by Leslie McGuire and “Bear’s Loose Tooth” by Karma Wilson. We are celebrating National Children’s Dental Health Month with two stories. Brush Your Teeth, Please has animals demonstrating what children need to do to take care of their teeth. Bear’s Loose Tooth is the story of the beloved picture book character, Bear, and how his good friends help him to stop worrying about his first wiggly tooth.

Storybook Theatre Friday, February 28th  presents at 11am “What Pet Should I Get?” by Dr. Seuss. This Dr. Seuss treasure follows a brother and sister into a pet store as they try to make up their minds as to what pet to choose. It teaches the lesson that it’s hard to make decisions, but sometimes you just have to! Then at 12:30pm “Dr. Seuss’s ABC” by Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss brings the alphabet alive with his whimsical, silly characters on every page!

Introduce your child to the wonder of reading and instill a love of books at an early age. Storybook Theatre combines your favorite childhood books with songs, rhymes and fingerplays which are meant to promote early literacy and enhance language development.
