Editor's Review: The Silent Mouse - My FAVORITE purchase of 2023!

Shhhh!! Who knew silent mice were a thing? Such a simple little gadget has made all the difference in my household!  A year ago, I didn't even know there was a such thing as a silent mouse. My poor husband. All these years I've stayed up late, night after night, working on my computer - click, click, click goes my mouse as he tries to sleep while I browse the Internet and make updates to my website. He has never complained. I mean, you would think a mouse click is no big deal, but at the end of the day when the house falls quiet, even smaller noises seem to be amplified.

I ordered the HP Wireless "silent mouse" (<<Amazon link) within minutes after learning about it from one of my colleagues. I've been so pleased with the results that I just had to write this quick review to tell you guys about it, in case it helps. Now I can click away all throughout the night (and sometimes into the early morning) without feeling like I'm being a nuisance to my husband who is usually getting zzzz's so he can wake up early in the morning for work.

In my opinion, simple is best, so the mouse I chose doesn't have any bells and whistles. It's a straightforward, cordless mouse that does what it's supposed to do - without all the loud clicking sounds! The HP wireless silent 280M mouse has an ergonomic right hand design, a scroll wheel, and claims to have 18  months of battery life (which - at this point in time - I can neither confirm nor deny the long battery life). It's black and has a 2.4 Ghz wireless connection up to a range of about 32 feet (not that I'd ever be that far away from my computer while using the mouse).

The design is comfortable, no mouse pad is needed, and the mouse costs around $20. And, to clear things up, it's not exactly "silent'. You can definitely hear a very soft click sound, but it's a far cry less than a regular mouse.
