Topgolf KidZone Summer Academy a Win-Win

We've partnered with Topgolf and were compensated for this post. Opinions are our own!

I decided to wear green because we were feeling super lucky for the opportunity to host an intimate Mom's Day and Kids Summer Academy event at Topgolf Spring. This time, there were 12 of us mommies and about 15 kiddos, and we had a chance to preview the KidZone Summer Academy. What fun! First of all, you should know that next week is the very last week to take advantage of the Summer Academy for this year, but it’ll return in full force at the beginning of next summer’s break. The Academy takes place Monday – Friday from 9am – 12pm, is for children ages 6-12, and they even feed the kids lunch. So, if you need to rip and run and get last minute school supplies handled next week, Topgolf is a great option for a unique experience for the kiddos. They’ll be well taken care of with a low student-to-teacher ratio of 1-6! Win-win!

Our Summer Academy Preview event was similar to last month’s Ladies’ Happy Hour

The children enjoyed a delicious, kid-friendly meal – hamburgers, mini hot dogs, chicken tenders, and – oh my – those tater tots were so good and crispy! The Academy consists of play time and golf instruction on the lower level which is set up quite similarly to the upper levels – lounge style with plush seating. The kids really seemed to like the “we’re chilling out” atmosphere of the place, and they were able to meet Bogey, the Topgolf Mascot. They all took home swag bags full of goodies – balls, sunglasses, yo-yos, water bottles , compliments of Topgolf. Everyone had a fun time, but you don't have to take my word for it:

The grown-ups enjoyed sangria, mushi appetizers (Topgolf’s ultimate creation of cilantro sticky rice, drunken beans, spiced chicken and Cheddar cheese neatly rolled in a jalapeño tortilla), and a full buffet of salad, Chicken & Waffles, delicious grilled salmon, Mac ‘N Cheese, and desserts (those injectable donuts, y’all! Plus the Sensational S’mores cookie sandwiches! And fresh fruit).  Topgolf provided prime golf instruction for our group (by a personable, 20+ year veteran instructor), and we hit balls to our hearts’ content. Of course, golf skills aren’t required at Topgolf, but even still we all went home feeling a little less like amateurs. Side note: We were delighted to have a dad join us for this event. (See, WoodlandsMommy.com is a resource for the entire family, not just moms.)

Although next week is the last week of the Academy for this year, Topgolf offers birthday parties for kids as well as private golf instruction, and they can even accommodate homeschool groups and other special requests, so just ask. Even when there’s no special occasion (you show up, rent a bay, and play) Topgolf is very kid-friendly and makes for a fun day out with the entire family. There's even a Kids Tournament for which you can sign up, now!

KidZone Tournament: Sign up your child for the KidZone tournament on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 8 a.m. Participants will play two games of Topgolf with their age bracket for the chance to win Topgolf gift cards and a 1st place trophy. Entry is $35 per child and includes a T-shirt, participation medal and game play for up to two hours.
