The Howard Hughes Corporation recently donated $2,000 to the YMCA for its Operation Backpack program as part of a health and wellness initiative. During June, Howard Hughes pledged to donate $1 for every mile walked, jogged or biked by its employees in the over 300 miles of nature trails in The Woodlands, Bridgeland and The Woodlands Hills. June is Great Outdoors Month, highlighting national trails.

The Lazy River 5K is a friendly competition to walk or run against the current of the lazy river and will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A practice session will take place Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
The Woodlands Children’s Museum will offer Fall Workshops from August through December 2022, including two new classes and several longtime favorites. Workshops are offered year-round at the museum as part of its mission to create opportunities that educate, empower and excite children and families through play.

The new Show Me workshop premiering this Fall is an energetic introduction to movement, dance and imagination. The class will explore performance art through pretend play and introduce children to various types of music and movement. Designed for children ages 2 and 3, the workshop will meet on Thursdays from 9:30am – 10:00am.

On the first Saturday of each month, most Home Depot stores offers FREE hands-on, in-store workshops designed for children ages 5 - 12. No registration is required, and kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Simply show up any time between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and supervise your child as he builds the project of the month. Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, and they instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.
