North Houston’s dynamic lifestyle hub City Place is continuing its robust public art program with the official unveiling of its newest installation, As Water Falls. Designed by Montreal-based digital art studio Iregular, As Water Falls is a dazzling, multi-faceted piece that functions at the intersection of art and technology as an interactive, digital waterfall and accompanied soundscape.
The large-scale, virtual waterfall with accompanying soundscape was specially reconceived for its exhibition at City Place. This is the first time the piece has been realized in a cube format and encompasses four, ever-changing LED displays – each interactive by touch – that allow participants to alter the digital cascades and sounds in an enticing reminder that nature is alive and continuously evolving.
City Place restaurant Island Grill is further adding to the experience with a dedicated cocktail that will be available in tandem with the exhibition. Drawing inspiration from its vibrant bursts of color, the BlueFalls is a tasty and potent concoction of vodka, rum, pineapple, coconut and blue curaçao.
As Water Falls is open through November 10, 2024. The installation is best experienced after sunset and is open daily from 7 am until 11 pm.
City Place Park is located at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive in Spring, TX. The exhibit is located in The Meadow, across the central pond from The Plaza and Houston City Place Marriott.
