Montgomery County Fair, Rodeo & BBQ Cookoff Returns March 29 - April 7

altThe Montgomery County Fair, Rodeo & BBQ Cookoff kicks off March 29 and runs through April 7. This is one of our family's favorite events of the spring!

Start your visit by heading to the arena for some great rodeo shows performed by cowboys and cowgirls from all over the state. There's not a bad seat in the house! Next, head over to the livestock area and see local 4-H and FFA student's prize-winning rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigs and cows. Check the schedule for livestock judging and auctions while you're there.

You can also enjoy traditional fairgrounds with rides (36" height minimum), lots of carnival games and fried food on a stick! This year the midway is now cashless and you
will purchase a pre-loaded armband to gain access to rides, games and food available in the carnival area. During the weekend, enjoy concerts outside the arena from local country bands.

Kids Day will be held on Monday April 1 and Tuesday 2 with with activities and fun for children in Pre-K thru 4th grades. There will be educational exhibits, including goat mountain, baby chicks hatching, laying hens, rabbits, a petting zoo, entertaining activities and other ag-related demonstrations. The carnival is not open during Kids Day events.

The best thing about the Montgomery County Fair is that you get the feel of a good Texas rodeo without the massive crowds! Gate admission is free during Monday through Thursday. Friday through Sunday adults are $10 online / $12 at the gate, kids 5-11 are $5 and kids under 5 are free. Gates open at 4pm on weekdays and 11am on weekends. The fair is located at 9201 Airport Rd. in Conroe just off of Hwy 336. For more information visit: www.mcfa.org.
