Urgent Care for Kids: Accessible & Available When & Where You Need Them Most

alt
Do you panic when an unexpected call from the school nurse shows up on caller ID? With my kids, the likely cause is usually fever, rash or an ear infection, and almost all of these symptoms require a professional to clear them back to school. No offense to my pediatrician's office, but sometimes getting in and out for a minor issue can literally take half the day (if I'm lucky enough to snag an appointment)! That's why I'm glad that companies like Urgent Care for Kids have convenient locations in The Woodlands and Spring.

Urgent Care for Kids is the largest pediatric after hours urgent care in Texas, serving families here at home and also in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth (because emergencies never happen on road trips, right?). They treat patients from their infancy to 21 years of age and accept all commercial and Texas specialty insurances, including Medicaid and CHIP. You can check-in online, by phone or walk-in to schedule an appointment and Urgent Care for Kids strives to minimize your wait time. In fact, their average wait time is only 5 minutes! They offer a lot of the same services your pediatrician does, including onsite lab testing for flu, strep, RSV and mono, as well as x-rays, stitches and more.

A new
telemedicine service called TeleCare for Kids will also launch this month, where you'll be able to have many common illnesses treated by one of their highly trained pediatricians through a video visit on your computer, iPhone, Android, or tablet device.
