There is nothing I dread more than grocery shopping with my kids. With everyone home for the summer, I can barely manage a trip to the store myself, let alone with three kids hanging on to my cart. Thank goodness for Hugslie Land at Kroger in Sterling Ridge! They offer a free, supervised play room for children ages 2-8 daily so that you can finally enjoy a child-free shopping experience (or just rest and have enjoy Starbucks with WiFi!).

altHow does it all work?
On your first visit, you'll register your child and receive a wristband to wear in the store. Your child is allowed a maximum of 2 hours in H
ugslie Land. You aren't allowed to leave the store. If your kiddo needs to use the potty or has an emergency or incident you'll be paged on the PA system. You can easily check in on your kids on the CCTVs located throughout the store.

altWhat do the kids do?
There are a wide variety of toys to play with. My kids love their huge selection of coloring sheets. There is a large DVD collection for kids to chose from and lately I've been finding my daughter crashed out on a bean bag watching Paw Patrol. My sons love playing vintage video games on their Nintendo systems.

But surely there's more free stuff?
Ha! Of course! Ms. Susan and Ms. Louise are the primary caregivers and love doting on the kids. They usually have a fun balloon or a penny for the coin-op pony ride. My kids also count on a free piece of fruit or a treat as they are checked out of Hugslie Land. If they are really after another treat, you can always drop by the bakery for a free kids' cookie or the floral department for a free balloon.

Hugslie Land hours are Monday-Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm (seasonal hours may vary). Kroger is located at 6700 Woodlands Pkwy.
