Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses
And all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again.

Trot, Trot, Trot
(hold infant on lap and bounce your legs)
Trot, trot, trot down to London,
Trot, trot, trot to Dover.
Look out ______, (baby's name)
Or you might fall over (tip baby to the side)

Shoe Fly
Shoe fly don't bother me,
Shoe fly don't bother me,
Shoe fly don't bother me
For I belong to somebody!

Sleepy Now
(Sung to London Bridge)
_____ (baby's name) is sleepy now,
Sleepy now, Sleepy now,
________(baby's name) is sleepy now,
My sweet baby!

Ring Around the Rosie
Ring around the rosie,
(turn in a circle while holding your child)
A pocket full of posie
Ashes, Ashes,
We all fall down.
(fall gently to the floor while holding
your child)

All Falls Down
Give your infant different objects
that he can drop - keys, paper, a
feather, a ball. He will recognize
that some objects make sounds
when they fall, some objects (like
paper and feathers) gently float to
the ground, and some objects
bounce back up!

Everything that Goes Up
Hold your hand up in the air in
baby's line of sight, saying:
"Everything that goes up comes
down, down down." (Gradually
spiral your hand down, down,
down until you gently tickle baby
under the chin or on the tummy).
Before long, he will anticipate the
tickles and will giggle before your
fingers touch!

Puff N' Pop
Puff your cheeks, then use your
hands to pop them to make a
funny noise. Soon, your infant will
reach out to pop your cheeks for
you.

Squishy, Squashy
Let your child squish
her hands in clay.
Careful, Playdough
and similar items
aren't generally
recommended for
infants (it goes
straight to their
mouths!) but your
baby will get a kick
out of a short minute
or two of
hand-molding.

Face to Face Interaction:
Forget the Wheels on the Bus
for a chance. Sing YOUR
favorite adult song, and dance
to the beat with your infant. Add
his name to the song you sing
and really have fun! Don't worry
about singing off key!
