PLAY TIME:

Pat A Cake
(clap baby's hands & gesture)
Pat a cake, Pat a cake,  Baker's Man
Bake me a cake  as fast as you can.
Pat it and prick it  And mark it with a "B"
Put it i the oven for baby and me.

"Daddy" Said the Baby
(clap baby's hands and gesture)
"Daddy" said the baby,
"Wonderful" said the mom,
"Daddy" said the baby,
"Cute" said the son,
"Daddy" said the baby,
The sister looked intrigued,
"Daddy" said the baby
And Daddy looked pleased.

NAP TIME:


Rock A Bye Baby
Rock A Bye Baby in the treetop
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall.
Down will come baby, cradle, and all.


Hats On, Hats Off
Play with a hat with your child. Put
the hat on his had and say "Hat's
on." Take it off and say "Hat's off."
Continue this several times,
putting on the hat and taking it off
both your child's head and your
head.


Peek A Boo
Play peek-a-boo with your hands
and a blanket, alternating
between covering your eyes and
your child's eyes


Faces of Fun
Sit your child facing you on your
lap and make a number of
different facial expressions
(smiling, move your eyebrows up
and down, stick out your tongue,
etc.)

Drum Rolls
If your child doesn't have a toy
drum, use the bottom of a large
tin or aluminum can (or turn over
a cardboard box) and help your
child make drum beats by hitting
his palms against the can.


Surprise Bag:
Fill a bag with the
following items and
allow your child to
pull out one item at a
time to explore:
a ball of yarn, a teddy
bear, cotton balls, bar
of soap, bag of
beans, baby rattle
(improvise as
necessary)


Cat Hunt!
Find as many cats as
you can! Look in
books, magazines,
t-shirts, outside, etc.,
being sure to point
out each instance to
your child.


Face to Face Interaction:
Smile and talk to your child
about cats/kittens. Use
gestures along with words, and
don't worry about saying
anything fancy. Talk about how
cat's have whiskers, the
sounds they make (purr,
meow!), how they like to
stretch, etc., allowing him a
chance to respond to you with
sounds or movement. Look
into his eyes and show him
that he has your undivided
attention.


Music Time:
Play some music and rock your
baby back in forth in your arms,
swaying to the beat.
