Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, April 12th-Celebration of National Poetry Month. Miss Jan will read excerpts from the delightful and fun collection of poetry in- “Ready for Spaghetti: Funny Poems for Funny Kids” by Michael Rosen and then “Stop that Poem!” by Eric Ode, a wonderful book that engages children to explore the world of poetry through floating words in different settings that create a variety of poems, showing that words can be filled with fun and wonder.
Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, April 19th presents ” Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms” by Julia Rawlinson. Fletcher, a sweet little fox, soaks up the sunny weather and warmth of the new season. However, he comes across snowy flakes floating down from the sky and lets all his friends know that winter is back…or is it? Before today’s story, Miss Jan will share a poem in honor of Earth Day (Monday, April 22) and National Poetry Month —“Behold,” Mary Kawena Pukui from The Barefoot Book of Earth Poems compiled by Judith Nicholls.
Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, April 26th celebrates Children’s Day/book Day with two special readings. “Book Fiesta!: Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros)” by Pat Mora. Miss Jan and Miss Maria will be reading this joyful book together in English and Spanish to celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (El día de los niῆos/El día de los libros). The story encourages children to explore the world of books wherever they are! This special day (which falls on April 30) highlights the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Then enjoy “Goodnight, Moon/Bonsoir Lune” by Margaret Wise Brown, a classic story in English and French that tells of a little bunny who says “goodnight” to everything in his room!
